Officers Sean McGettigan, Domenick Montanaro and Michael Osorio found the Atlantic City man asleep on the sidewalk at the corner of Florida and Pacific avenues at 10:44 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
After they woke him up, the found he had a warrant for his arrest. But as they arrested him, they also found a handgun in his waistband and four bags of heroin in his pocket, according to the report.
Legette, 24, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He also was given a city ordinance for sleeping in public.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
