Two arrested in Atlantic City shooting, robbery

Two Atlantic City men were arrested Wednesday, for allegedly robbing and shooting a man last week. Christian Bolivar-Zapata and Jonathan Candelaria, both 18, are accused of shooting 45-year-old Andrew Carey on Friday morning. Carey, whose name was not released until the arrests, was found by officers responding to the report of a man shot just before 6 a.m. in the north block of Bellevue Avenue. An investigation led by the city's Violent Crimes Unit led to the two men, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Candelaria was arrested later that same day by Longport police in an unrelated matter.  Bolivar-Zapata was arrested Wednesday by Violent Crimes Unit detectives. Both men are charged with aggravated assault, robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and conspiracy. Both were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
