  • News

Marcanthony Jones, left, and George Hayes have been linked to six separate investigation, State Police said.

Two Vineland men have been charged in a string of car burglaries in Cumberland County.
Several unlocked vehicles had been burglarized and various items stolen, including a chainsaw, according to an investigation by State Police troopers from the Bridgeton Station.
Surveillance footage obtained from one of the residences captured a suspect, who investigators later identified as George Hayes, burglarizing one of the cars, according to the report.
After further investigation, detectives identified another suspect, Marcanthony Jones, who sold the chainsaw at a pawnshop in Vineland, surveillance footage showed.
Both men were arrested Saturday. Jones was found in a motel and Hayes in an abandoned home.
Jones, 22, was charged with burglary, theft and fencing, and is being held in the Cumberland County Jail on unrelated warrants.
Hayes, 34, was charged with burglary and theft and released on a summons pending a future court date.
Both men have been connected to six separate investigations, police said.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims.
