Man charged with DUI after hitting cars and crashing into bar parking lot

  • News

A Galloway Township man was charged with drunken driving after he struck two cars and crashed into the parking lot of an Egg Harbor Township bar.
Randy Gibbs, 40, was speeding south on Hingston Avenue in the township’s Bargaintown section, when he failed to stop for a red light and went into the intersection at Tilton Road, Lt. Michael Finnerty said.
Gibbs then struck the rear passenger side of a car driven west on Tilton Road by Albert Ragozzino Jr., 52, of Mullica Hill, according to the report. He then struck an eastbound pickup driven by David Zamoznick, 59, of Bayville.
Gibbs’ Mercedes sedan then wound up in the parking lot of the Tilton Inn, where it struck a fire hydrant and a parked car before coming to rest, Finnerty said.
The Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad responded to the scene and all parties involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.
The intersection was shut down for about an hour and a half with the assistance of the Northfield Police Department.
Gibbs was charged with driving while impaired by Officer John Beattes. He was issued multiple motor vehicle summonses and criminal charges are pending further investigation.
The crash was investigated by Officer Joe Griffiths.
