A Hamilton Township school bus driver was charged with sexual assault for inappropriately touching a student.
Kyle McArdle, 22, of Mays Landing, worked for a third-party company contracted for bus service.
He was arrested after an investigation into reports by school personnel concerning inappropriate behavior by McArdle, police said.
It was determined that McArdle inappropriately touched a student on a bus he was operating, police said.
McArdle was arrested Friday, and charged with second-degree sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Police did not say what school the bus was for or how old the children McArdle was transporting were.
McArdle's Facebook page lists his employer as Sheppard Bus Company. A worker in the Human Resources Department said they had no comment on McArdle's arrest at this time.
He is being lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending court, police said.
The investigation was conducted by the Hamitlton Township police and members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor;s Office Crimes Against Children Unit.
