Man who allegedly had 31 guns and makings for more is indicted in Atlantic County

  • News

A Burlington County man found with 31 guns and makings for more has been indicted by an Atlantic County grand jury.

Gregory Carleton, 56, of Evesham Township, is accused of manufacturing "ghost guns," which are guns made without the legally required serial number, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.

Carleton sold a ghost gun in Hammonton Township on Jan. 17, Tyner said. His office's Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit with help from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, searched Carleton’s residence in Evesham Township in Burlington County, and found 17 more ghost guns, 14 unregistered firearms and numerous parts, tools and equipment that could be used to make more, according to the charges.

He was indicted on 22 counts and is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
