Two seriously hurt when car rear-ends police SUV in Hamilton

Two people were seriously injured when a car crashed into a Hamilton Township police SUV shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Officer Keone Osby was stopped in traffic in his patrol vehicle on Route 40 eastbound around milepost 50.5 when his vehicle was struck by a car driven by Victoria Branca, 43, of Egg Harbor Township.
The collision caused the police SUV to hit the vehicle in front of him, driven by 33-year-old Megan Valentin of Vineland, who had two juvenile passengers.
Branca sustained a serious injury and was transported to Shore Medical Center in Somers Point. Osby was seriouly injured and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Mainland Campus in Galloway Township.
Valentin's vehicle had only minor damage to the rear bumper, and no one in her car was injured, police said.
The crash is being investigated by Sgt. Graczyk.
Township of Hamilton Rescue and AtlantiCare Paramedics assisted with the crash.
