A candle apparently started a fire inside a rowhouse in Atlantic City on Sunday.
The fire happened on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
A resident told firefighters that they lit a candle in the second-floor bedroom, then went downstairs "only to find, minutes later, the bedroom was fully involved with fire," Fire Chief Scott Evans said.
Everyone inside got out safely, but drove themselves to the hospital for evaluation, Evans said.
An aggressive attack and ventilation by Engine 3, Rescue 1 and Engine 3 helped contain the fire to the second floor, Evans said.
