Students and staff at an Atlantic City school were told to shelter in place after an alert of gunfire nearby, police said.
The ShotSpotter alert came in at about 2:40 p.m., Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Officers located evidence of gunfire.
Students and staff at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School Complex, about a block away, were sheltered in place as police investigated.
