Tip leads to Atlantic City man wanted in stabbing

A man wanted in an Atlantic City stabbing was arrested after a call to police.

Officers Lennin Moya and Cuong Sam responded to the 2700 block of Arctic Avenue at about 3:40 a.m. Saturday, after a 911 call for a report of a wanted male in the area, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
As a result, Moya and Sam found Julio Taveras-Hernandez and arrested him without incident, according to the report.

Taveras-Hernandez, 19, was wanted after wounding a 51-year-old man in a stabbing at about 5:20 a.m. April 14, Fair said.
Officer James Andros IV found the unnamed victim suffering from stab wounds in the 2700 block of Arctic Avenue.
The man was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus with serious injuries. He was treated and released.

An investigation by Detectives Matthew Cocuzza and Joshua Schwenger identified Taveras-Hernandez as the suspect.
He is charged with a
ggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
