  • News

An Atlantic City man on probation in February and a fugitive from Washington, D.C. were arrested this week after complaints about drug distribution on Ocean Avenue.
Messiah Henry and Deral Green were found making a drug deal by Detectives Thomas McCabe and Avette Harper, who were conducting surveillance on the beach block after complaints about drug activity in the area, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Green immediately fled, but quickly surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
He had 208 bags of heroin,a nd was found to be wanted out of Washington, D.C., Fair said.
Henry, who was sentenced to five years’ probation in February, had 25 bags, according to the report.

Henry had been ordered held pending trial in October in a knife-point robbery. He already had been free pending charges in the Jan. 26, 2016 shooting of Andray Green.
All of those cases were rectified with February's sentencing, with the gun and robbery cases dismissed, attorney Durann Neil told BreakingAC.
Henry, 22, is  now charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute and possession within 500 feet of a public zone.
Green, 35, is charged with fugitive from justice, possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone.
Both men are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
