A teen driver lost control in the rain causing a crash Sunday evening in Hamilton Township, police said.
A 17-year-old from Mays Landing was traveling east in the left lane of the Black Horse Pike when the wet roadway caused him to lose control of his car and cross the centerline of the road near Shoshoni Drive, police said.
The Dodge Dart crashed into a Mitsubishi Galant driven by Dominick Lopez, 21, of Williamstown, who was traveling west in the right lane, according to the report.
Lopez was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Hammonton Campus for evaluation of his injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and airbags deployed in the crash.
Traffic was diverted around the crash scene for about a half-hour while the area was cleared, police said.
