Mays Landing man arrested in drug distribution and home invasion

A Mays Landing man faces multiple charges related to heroin distribution and a home invasion.
Kaiwan Lewis, 24, was arrested Aug. 3, 2018, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner announced Tuesday, 11 days after the arrest.
Lewis was charged with second-degree heroin distribution, third-degree possession.
Last Wednesday, he was additionally charged in an April 25 home invasion in Pleasantville.
In that case, he faces charges of first-degree robbery, and second-degree charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. He also has a fourth-degree charge of aggravated assault.
Lewis has a detention hearing set for next Tuesday.
The arrest was the result of a collaborative effort between the Prosecutor’s Office Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Hamilton Township and Pleasantville police departments.
