EHT man alive after self-inflicted arrow to head

An Egg Harbor Township resident was injured after he took an arrow to the head in a self-inflicted wound using a crossbow. Police were called to the area of Poplar Avenue between Sturbridge Court and Brettwood Drive at 9:50 p.m., Sgt. John Heim told BreakingAC. When officers arrived on scene, the found the 21-year-old man conscious and talking with an arrow lodged in his head, according to the report. The arrow entered one side of his head and went through to the other side. The injury was not life-threatening. Immediate medical attention was provided on scene, and then the man — whose name is not being released — was taken to a local hospital for treatment. No one else was injured. The case is being investigated by Egg Harbor Township Police Detectives Jeffrey Lancaster and Kyle Warren. Any additional information can be emailed to
