A former Atlantic County employee is charged with theft after he allegedly got two checks for one job — then refused to return the funds.
Ronald Grattini, 36, of Vineland, was working as a Right to Know project specialist when he received a direct deposit check July 13, 2017. He then requested a paper payroll check for the same period, and cashed that one for $1,504.50, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said Tuesday.
Grattini then refused to return the duplicate funds and was fired, Tyner said.
He is charged with theft of moveable property and was released on a summons.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Official Corruption Unit investigated.
