A woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed a man in the head in Hamilton Township, and fled.
Police were called to the 100 block of Sorrentino Way in Mays Landing at about 5:30 a.m. Friday, for a reported stabbing, according to the report.
Jillian Bellone-McMaster and the 39-year-old victim got into a verbal argument, police said. The argument escalated and Bellone-McMaster stabbed the man in the head several times, causing serious injury.
The suspect then ran, but was stopped nearby and arrested by responding officers.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus by the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad and AtlantiCare Paramedics. He was treated and released.
Bellone-McMaster, 31, of Franklinville, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. She is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
