  • News
A Virginia woman was charged with driving under the influence after she caused a three-car chain-reaction crash, police said. Atlantic City police were called to Huron Avenue and Brigantine Boulevard at 9:12 p.m. Sunday for a three-car crash, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Cynthia Kazura, 58, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Huron Avenue approaching the red traffic light with several vehicles stopped for the light, according to the report. She rear-ended a vehicle that then crashed into a second vehicle. Kazura was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus with serious injuries. The 55-year-old man who was in the first car that was hit was taken to the hospital. The Elkton, Maryland, man's injuries were not considered life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the second impacted vehicle did not report any injuries. Kazura was charged following an investigation by Officer Eric Knuttel. Kazura is also charged with reckless driving and failure to wear a seat belt. Additional charges are pending a toxicology report, Fair said. She was given the summonses with a future court date.
