Serial burglar out on pending charges is arrested in new A.C. burglaries

  • News

A serial burglar recently released on pending charges is back in jail.

Bernard Snead, 52, of Pleasantville, was arrested Sunday, after he was seen walking in the 1200 block of the Boardwalk at about 6:49 p.m. by Officer Eric Evans.

Snead had been identified as the suspect in three burglaries, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. After Snead's arrest, he was charged in another that was being investigated.

On Nov. 23 and 27, Snead allegedly stole a total of more than $11,000 in alcohol from the Daer Nightclub in the Hard Rock Atlantic City, according to the charges.

Snead also allegedly took a laptop taken from an office at the Showboat on Nov. 28.

Money and other items taken from the Surf Bar on Nov. 29, also has been attributed to Snead.

Snead just got out of prison in July, after serving 20 months in connection with a string of vending machine burglaries at various casinos.

He was arrested in October for allegedly taking about $500 worth of liquor from Atlantic City’s Bungalow Beach Bar in the 2600 block of the Boardwalk.

At the time of that arrest, Snead was carrying a book bag containing several bags of frozen shrimp, seven frozen steaks and two screwdrivers, all believed to have been stolen.

He is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on four counts each of burglary and theft.
