Atlantic City man charged in gunpoint assault, robbery

  • News
An Atlantic City man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted and robbed a woman at gunpoint during a domestic incident. Jeffrey Wright already had left the area when Officer Ryan Kov arrived in the 2300 block of Atlantic Avenue on Tuesday night, according to the report. The victim told Kov she had been assaulted and robbed of her belongings. The search for Wright brought officers to a home in the first block of Connecticut Avenue, where a man was uncooperative, Fair said. It was then found he had an outstanding warrant, and 30-year-old Scott Morgan was taken into custody. As the officers were leaving Morgan’s home, Wright was found walking in that block, Fair said. He was arrested without incident. Wright, 29, was charged with simple assault, armed robbery, theft, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and certain persons not to possess a weapon. Both men were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Morgan was not listed as an inmate Wednesday, according to the jail.
