An Absecon man who sparked a hours-long school lockdown is in jail.
Police were called just before noon Friday, saying that a man had fled from a residence with a firearm with unknown intentions, police said Saturday.
Because the residence is close to the Absecon School Complex, the school was placed on lock down.
Jesse Walker, 32, was arrested on weapons charges after an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, police said.
Someone with knowledge of the case said Walker turned himself in. It was not clear whether he had a gun on him at the time of his arrest.
Walker is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, records show.
