Fireworks could be heard in Atlantic County as the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl in a hard-fought game against the New England Patriots.
The won 41-33.
The Eagles trailed just once during the game that saw a record with more than 1,000 yards of combined offense even before the final quarter.
The Eagles Nick Foles also made history by being the first quarterback to catch a touchdown in the Super Bowl.
With 2:21 left, it looked like five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady — who won all five rings in a fourth-quarter comeback — was set to do it again. Instead, he fumbled the ball under pressure from the strong Eagles defense.
The Eagles turned that into a touchdown, but missed the two-point conversion to go up 41-33.
Brady had one more chance, but fell short.
