A woman was arrested on multiple car burglaries after Atlantic City police found her inside a vehicle she was burglarizing.
Officers Anthony Alosi and Michael Oldroyd responded to the 500 block of Trenton Avenue at just before 6 a.m. Monday for the report of a car burglary, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
As they responded they got a second report on the 400 block, with the caller telling police that the suspect was still inside the vehicle, according to the report.
The officers found Michelle Maycott sitting in the passenger side of the vehicle, with the window next to her smashed.
While she was being arrested, Alosi found a screwdriver and a large amount of assorted change, Fair said.
The officers then searched the block for other vehicles that had been damaged or entered.
A total of nine vehicles had been damaged and burglarized in the 400 and 500 blocks of Trenton Avenue.
Maycott, 41, of Atlantic City, was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools. She also had an active warrant and was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
