Police investigating what caused Ventnor man to crash into AutoZone

  • News
Two people were injured when a truck crashed into the AutoZone in Ventnor Heights on Monday night. Police are still investigating what caused Orest Zabihach, 38, of Ventnor, to crash into the storefront just after 6 p.m. The truck jumped the curb on Wellington Avenue, traveled across the parking lot and then jumped the sidewalk in front of the store and crashed through the large front window, witnesses said. Customer Kevin Ramirez, 33, of Atlantic City, was inside at the time and injured in the crash, Capt. Charles Wood said. Both men were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus via Ventnor City Fire Department ambulances, Wood said. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening. The pickup was removed before the store was turned over to AutoZone and Lamar Properties, the property management company. The storefront will be boarded until repairs can be made. Ventnor City Police Officer Hommy Quinones is investigating. He can be reached at 609-822-2101.
