A passenger was injured in a Hamilton Township crash Monday night.
Fred Fiola, 88, of Buena, was heading west on Route 40 when, for an unknown reason, he crashed into a Pathfinder legally parked on the westbound shoulder, police said.
After hitting the parked car, Fiola’s vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the wooden front porch of a nearby residence, according to the report.
The crash caused severe damage to Fiola’s vehicle and minor damage to the porch, police said.
Fiola refused medical treatment. His passenger, 62-year-old Bonnie Nigro, also of Buena, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Mainland Campus in Galloway Township by the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad. She had minor injuries, police said.
Both Fiola and Nigro were wearing their seat belts.
The Mays Landing Fire Company assisted at the scene.
No summonses have been issued at this time.
