Atlantic City High School’s ROTC is once again heading to national competition.
For the third year in a row the teens have qualified for the National Athletic Academic and Military Drill Competition in Pensacola, Fla.
The unit includes 161 student cadets who have given 2,500 hours of community service to their school and local communities.
In December, they finished second in the Manchester High School Drill Meet, which qualified them for this month’s regional competition.

In January, the varsity unit earned first place among 14 high schools that competed at the 31st annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Drill Meet. The Cadet Squad placed third.
The team qualified for its first national competition in 2016.
They are currently ranked 19th in the country out 630 NJROTC units, and placed fourth nationally in the Color Guard event.
This year’s competition is April 6 and 7.
