A flash-freeze on the Delilah Road overpass caused several cars to lose control Tuesday night in Absecon.
A total of 14 vehicles were involved, police said.
Delilah Road at Route 30 was closed while the scene was investigated and cleared.
Three people suffered minor injuries and were taken to are hospitals.
Atlantic County responded and salted the road, which was reopened by about 10 p.m.
A flash freeze is when road dampness freezes after a rapid temperature fall. It is an infrequent event.
