Atlantic City man pleads guilty in gang-related shooting

  • News

An Atlantic City man pleaded guilty in a shooting the state previously said was gang-related.
Azaiah Grisom, 19, faces a five-year sentence for second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree aggravated assault by pointing a handgun, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
Grisom, who was previously ordered detained, was released on an electronic monitoring device pending his Aug. 3 sentencing.
Jordan Reaves, 20, was shot Dec. 5, in a residence at 713A Wabash Avenue in Atlantic City, according to the charges.
The shooting was one in a series of gang-related retaliatory shootings, according to information released in court.
Atlantic City police who responded to the shooting found about six pounds of marijuana, 70 wax folds of heroin and three bags of crack cocaine inside the residence.
They also found drug-packaging materials and a bag containing 19 rounds of live ammunition.
Donte Ford, 23, who lives in the apartment, was indicted on drug-possession and intent to distribute charges, Tyner said.
The case was investigated by Detectives Michael Auble and Innocenzo Visceglia of the Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit is prosecuting the case.
