An Atlantic City officer revived a baby born at a home late Saturday, police said.
Officers Robert Reynolds and George Mancuso were called to the 200 block of Atlantic Avenue just before 11 p.m. for a report of a woman who had just given birth, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The officers arrived to find the 22-year-old woman in the bathroom with the baby still attached to his mother by the umbilical cord, Fair said.
Reynolds immediately grabbed the baby who was unresponsive and not breathing, and started CPR, Fair said.
After a short period of time, the baby began to breathe and cry, Fair said.
Mother and son were then taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Mainland Campus in Galloway Township.
