Bicyclist injured in EHT hit-and-run

Egg Harbor Township police are looking for a car that struck a bicyclist Wednesday and fled. Lynne Devivo, 43, of Egg Harbor Township, was riding her bicycle at 5:48 p.m., on the shoulder of Ocean Heights Avenue near Swift Drive when she was struck by a 2006-2009 Mercedes-Benz ML model that was gold or pewter in color, police said. The Mercedes fled the scene toward English Creek Avenue with passenger side damage, according to the report. The side-view mirror was completely detached from the vehicle. Devivo was transported taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Mainland Campus in Galloway Township with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. This crash is being investigated by Officer Louis Poletis. Anyone who witnessed the crash, or was in the area and saw a Mercedes SUV being operated in an unsafe manner is asked to call the Traffic Safety Unit at 609-926-2661.
