EHT crash shuts down Black Horse Pike for about an hour

  • News
Two drivers were injured in a crash in Egg Harbor Township on Friday afternoon. Kimberly Weaver was heading east on the Black Horse Pike when her Ford F350 impacted a Kia Optima driven by Alexandra Barone heading north on Spruce Avenue, police said. Weaver’s truck struck the driver’s side of Barone’s car, trapping the Egg Harbor Township woman inside, Lt. Michael Finnerty said. The Cardiff Fire Department responded and was able to extricate Barone. Barone, 49, was treated at the scene and taken to the Trauma Unit AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus with serious injuries, Finnerty said. Weaver, 21, of Mays Landing, was treated at the scene and sent to AtlantiCare’s Mainland Campus in Galloway Township. The Black Horse Pike was shut down for about one hour while the crash was being investigated. The investigation is being conducted by MPO II Robert Moran of the Traffic Safety Unit. Summonses are pending the investigation’s completion.
