Demi Lovato won't perform beach concert after apparent overdose

  • News
Demi Lovato will not perform at a planned Atlantic City beach concert Thursday after she was hospitalized for an apparent drug overdose Tuesday.
TMZ first reported that the pop singer — who used her recent "Sober" to admit to a relapse — had overdosed from heroin. The site cited law enforcement officials in that claim. But they are now saying a source close to the singer said it was not heroin. Neither the source, nor an uncooperative but now conscious Lovato, would say what the drug was. No drugs were found at her home, TMZ reported. She was given Narcan, which reverses overdoses on opioids. Lovato was scheduled to perform on the Atlantic City beach Thursday. Ticketholders will be able to attend Thursday's Lauv performance along with along with Sunday's Chainsmokers, Live Nation Philly tweeted late Tuesday night. Refunds at point of purchase will also be available. https://twitter.com/LiveNationPhila/status/1021957559647973377 Live Nation's Geoff Gordon earlier told BreakingAC they were working with the city and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority to see what could be salvaged of the concert. He expected to have more information later. A clip of the "Sober" video Lovato tweeted last month includes a stretcher being loaded into an ambulance. "My truth..." she wrote with the Tweet https://twitter.com/ddlovato/status/1009807182089445377
