Suspect sought in Hamilton Township home invasion

Hamilton Township police are looking for a suspect in a home invasion. A man forced his way into a home in at about 8:10 Friday night, police said. The suspect was confronted by the 47-year-old man who owns the home and the two struggled, according to the report. An 18-year-old man also was home a the time. During the fight, the suspect hit the victim in the head with a crowbar and bit his arm before fleeing, police said. He was last seen running through the woods toward Cologne Avenue. The suspect is described as a stocky black male in his late 20s to early 40s with a medium complexion, a shaved or bald head and a beard. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, gray sweatpants and a gray hat. The victim was treated at the scene by the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad and later drove to the hospital for further examination. The 18 year-old was not injured.
