Three pets killed in Galloway Township fire

  • News
Three pets were killed in a Galloway Township fire late Friday afternoon in the Ryan's Ridge development. Police and detectives were first on the scene at Snow Mass Court at about 4:20 p.m., and found a fire that was spreading to a neighboring unit. Police immediately evacuated the complex, police said. Volunteer firefighters from the Bayview, Pomona and Oceanville fire companies responded and brought the fire under control, police said. The fire was contained to two apartments, which were both left uninhabitable. A third apartment had minor damage. Galloway Township Fire Chief Richard Smith commanded fire operations. The Galloway Township Ambulance Squad, Emergency Management and Code Enforcement, along with the American Red Cross and Atlantic City Electric assisted at the scene. No people were injured. The fire is under investigation by Fire Department Investigator Scott Feldman and Police Detective Lt. Joseph Picardi and Officer John Mooney.
