The Atlantic City Police Department released tips on making sure people don't open suspicious packages.
The warning was released after three package bombs killed two people and wounded two others in Austin, Texas.
"When receiving a package, take an extra moment to ensure that the package is not suspicious and was intended for you or someone in your residence, business or mailroom," police said.
If the package or letter is deemed suspicious:
- It should not be handled or opened.
- The area should be evacuated.
- Any emergency plan should be activated.
- Make note of the characteristics that caused suspicion.
- Call 911.
