An Atlantic City man has been arrested in a burglary at Sister Jean’s Kitchen. Wayne Branham, 54, of Atlantic City, allegedly stole about $400 worth of food from the soup kitchen in South Pennsylvania Avenue, Sgt. Kevin Fair announced Tuesday.
Officer George Mancuso identified Branham from surveillance photographs, and arrested him without incident at Massachusetts and Atlantic avenues at about 9 p.m. March 14, Fair said. An investigation by Detectives Roberto Matos and Matthew Cocuzza, and Forensic Detective Paul Walsh led to the Branham being charged with burglary and theft. He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Branham previously served prison sentences for burglaries, including more than 4½ years for an armed burglary in 2009, according to state Department of Corrections records. He got out in April 2014, and a year later was back in prison for armed burglary and contempt, records show. He was released in April 2016.
