Two teens were arrested after they fled a drug deal in a stolen car and led police on a chase through two other towns, police said.
Officer Alberto Valles was patrolling the 1800 block of Atlantic Avenue after complaints from merchants about drug activity when he saw a drug deal between Nehemiah Letson and two teens inside a Nissan Altima, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
When officers responding activated their lights and sirens, the driver sped off, with officers pursuing it through Pleasantville and Egg Harbor Township, according to the report.
During the chase, it was discovered was reported stolen from Egg Harbor Township.
The car was in two minor collisions during the chase, including one at Albany and Ventnor avenues.
After the second at Delaware and Arctic avenues, the two teens inside got out and ran, and officers arrested them, Fair said.
A 16-year-old boy from Atlantic City was driving. The passenger, a 15-year-old from the city, was found in possession of 20 grams of marijuana.
The driver was charged with eluding, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, receiving stolen property and numerous traffic summonses. He was taken to Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center in Egg Harbor City.
The passenger was charged with receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice and possession of marijuana. He was released on a summons.
