An Egg Harbor Township man accused of running a drug production facility was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday. Ismael Martinez, 33, had about 3 kilograms of heroin, more than a half-ounce of cocaine when an Absecon address was searched in October, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said. Martinez was indicted in January and later pleaded guilty to first-degree possession of heroin with intent to distribute and first-degree maintaining/operation of a heroin production facility, Tyner said. Martinez must serve at least 7½ years in prison before he is eligible for parole. The investigation was conducted by Absecon and Pleasantville police with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Guns Gangs and Narcotics Unit. Assistant Prosecutor Aaron Witherspoon prosecuted the case.
