Mays Landing man wanted after allegedly firing shots during altercation

Hamilton Township police are looking for a man wanted for allegedly shooting at a person during an altercation. Steven Banks, 28, of Mays Landing, allegedly filed multiple shots from a handgun as the victim was driving away on the first block of Farragut Avenue on Monday, police said. The vehicle was struck by gunfire, but the intended target was not hit but did receive medical attention for injuries from broken glass, according to the report. Police are actively searching for Banks, who is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
