Laundry proves a problem for man fleeing Atlantic City police

  • News
A Pleasantville man fleeing police was clothelined — literally. Atlantic City Officers Eric Evans and Kevin Perez were trying to stop the man as he caused problems for motorists as he biked along Martin Luther King Boulevard, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. But when the officers tried to stop Lionel Brown-Bowman to talk to him, he started to speed away, according to the report. Brown-Bowman eventually jumped off the bike and started to run through Stanley Holmes Village. It was in the 1500 block of Wabash Place that he failed to see a hanging clothesline, and was knocked off his feet, Fair said. Evans was able to take him into custody without further incident. When Brown-Bowman was searched, police found 61 bags of heroin, 15 Xanax pills and three grams of marijuana, according to the charges. Brown-Bowman, 26, was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, two counts each of possession with intent to distribute, possession within a school zone and possession within 500 feet of a public zone, along with resisting arrest and a traffic summons. Brown-Bowman was released on a summons.
