A Galloway Township couple are charged for allegedly scamming people out of more than $8,000 in fraudulent gift cards.
Hamilton Township Detective Gregory Van Gilder got a call from the Fauquier County (Virginia) Sheriff's Department on Sept. 28, asking for help in a fraud investigation, police said.
Victims were being scammed into buying Best Buy gift cards that they would then send electronicallyh to the suspects, according to the report.

Yanping Ye, 34, and Wang Tang, 45, allegedly then spent the gift cards at the Best Buy in Mays Landing.
The pair was arrested Thursday, after being identified with help from Best Buy Loss Prevention employees, police said.
Both are charged with conspiracy to commit theft by deception, conspiracy to commit fraudulent use of a credit card and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Wang Tang was additionally charged with theft by deception, fraudulent use of a credit card and money laundering
Both were released on a summons, pending court.
Hamilton Township police used the case as a reminder to be suspicious of phone calls or emails that claim you are the winner of a prize and request you to send money or gift cards to receive your prize.
