An Atlantic City man was indicted for murder in the killing of a 17-year-old in August.
Rahsaad Norwood, 21, was indicted on Wednesday on charges of murder and weapons offenses, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
Michael Shaheed McLaughlin was shot just before noon Aug. 9, about a block from City Hall.
“This was a senseless crime committed in broad daylight,” Tyner said at the time of Norwood's arrest. “A 21-year-old killing a 17-year-old has cost society two lives. The loss of human capital from unnecessary gun violence should have everyone in our community outraged.”
Norwood remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Assistant Prosecutor Rick McKelvey represents the state in the matter.
