Atlantic City woman charged in fatal overdose

  • News
An Atlantic City woman already jailed on drug charges is now accused in the fatal overdose of a 30-year-old man. Jeffrey Giannini was found unresponsive June 1, in a car parked in the McDonald's parking lot on Arkansas Avenue, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said. He died of an overdose. Next to him were bags that tested positive for heroin and fentanyl. Video surveillance from about two hours earlier showed Giannini being sold drugs by Rajeri Curry, according to the charges. Curry, 29, already had drug charges against her at the time. WADDELL The Stanley Holmes Village apartment she shared with Kaytisha Waddell on Drexel Place was searched Jan. 17. About 300 bags of heroin were found, police said at the time.
Both women were released on summonses. They were indicted this week on heroin possession and distribution charges. Curry was additionally indicted on first-degree drug-inducted death, under the strict-liability statute that can hold those who sell drugs criminally responsible for the deaths they cause.
