Mays Landing teen with 'extensive' record arrested on gun charge

  • News
A Mays Landing teen arrested with the keys to a stolen car last year is jailed again after he allegedly ran from police and discarded a gun. Isaiah Gray, 19, already had what police called "an extensive criminal history" when he was arrested in December on burglary and theft charges after he was found walking with the keys to a vehicle reported stolen from Hamilton Township, police said at the time. Gray admitted to stealing the vehicle in a taped confession, according to police. He and Officer Keone Osby tried to stop him after learning he had several outstanding warrants, according to the report. But Gray ran, police said. He was arrested after a short chase. A search of the area found a loaded semi-automatic handgun he discarded during the chase, according to the charges. Gray is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted person and resisting arrest.  He is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
