Two men wounded in Atlantic City shooting

Two men were shot as they drove down Pacific Avenue early Thursday morning. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of gunshots at 1:22 a.m. in the area of Vermont and Pacific avenues, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. The officers found two Atlantic City men — ages 23 and 25 — had been shot near the Vermont Plaza Apartments. After the shooting, the driver collided with several parked cars in the 100 block of South Vermont Avenue. The victims were taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening. The investigation is being led by the Violent Crimes Unit. The victim's car was towed from the scene. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 609-347-5788.
