A Mays Landing woman was arrested after she allegedly tried to break in a home and steal the dog.
Hamilton Township police were called to the residence on Deer Track Lane at about 12:15 Thursday morning for the report of a burglary in progress.
The homeowner said an unknown woman had forced her way into his home and tried to steal his dog, police said. She then ran from the residence.
The dog was not injured.
Patrol units responded to the area and setup a p
erimeter, while a K-9 track was conducted by K-9 Kota, Sgt. Robell and Officer Wilsbach. They found a woman matching the description.
Robbin DiFabio, 45, was charged with burglary and theft and taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
