Fire displaces 14 in Atlantic City

A fire displaced 14 people in Atlantic City on Wednesday night. No one was injured in the blaze. Firefighters rescued two dogs and a cat from the rowhome on the 1300 block of Drexel Avenue, Fire Chief Scott Evans said. One dog had to be given oxygen.
Photos by Francisco Viera The first-floor kitchen and living room of the two-story building were fully engulfed when firefighters arrived before 10 p.m., Evans said. Flames were blowing out of the rear windows. The fire began in the kitchen, and has been deemed accidental, Evans said. Six people were displaced from the building that suffered the fire, and eight others from the exposure that was damaged by smoke.
