A Hamilton Township police officer was injured when his patrol car was struck Friday afternoon.
Officer Craig Clayton was heading east on Route 40 just before 3:30 p.m. when he was struck by a man who was trying to make a left turn to head west from the Shore Health Park, police said.
David Massler's white Ford pickup struck the driver's side of Claytn's vehicle, according to the report.
Clatyon was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Massler, 37, of Mays Landing, was not injured. He was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving.
