  • News

Two Atlantic County men have been arrested after allegedly setting their friend on fire while he was sleeping.
Hamilton Township police were called to a home on the 2900 block of Cologne Avenue in Mays Landing last month for the report of an aggravated assault, according to the report.
Officers were told the the 27-year-old victim from Brigantine was at Jefferson University Hospital being treated for severe burns.
The investigation found that the man — whose name was not released — was asleep at a friend's home March 15, when Brandon Perez and David Sult set him on fire, police said.
The victim left the home and was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus by family. He was then transferred to Jefferson for treatment.

Perez, 23, of Hammonton, was arrested March 25. Sult, 24, of Mays Landing, was arrested Monday.
Both are charged with aggravated assault, aggravated arson and conspiracy.
They are being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
