A Philadelphia man is jailed and another suspect being sought in the strong-arm robbery of a man in Atlantic City.
The 56-year-old Atlantic City man was walking along the beach block of Ocean Avenue in the evening on March 26, when two men assaulted him, ripping his pants pocket as they stole his wallet, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The man did not report the robbery right away, but sought medical treatment for his injuries, according to the report.
An investigation by detectives of the Street Crimes Unit led to a warrant being issued for Laquay Phillips on Thursday.
Detective Fariyd Holmes found Phillips a short time later, and arrested him at Ohio and Pacific avenues.
Phillips, 31, is charged with aggravated assault, theft and conspiracy. He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The identity of the second suspect is still unknown.
He is described as a 5-foot-7 light-skin black man in his late 20s. He was last seen wearing dark colored clothing, including a gray sweatshirt.
