Eight people have been charged in an Atlantic County narcotics operation that included the seizure of drugs and guns, Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
A months-long investigation led to warrants at homes in Egg Harbor City and Mullica Township on Thursday. There, police found two handguns, large-capacity magazines with hollow-point ammunition, about 2,000 wax folds of suspected heroin, six ounces of suspected cocaine and various items used to manufacture and package narcotics, Tyner said.
Robert Strong, 27, of Egg Harbor City, was allegedly leading a drug-trafficking network, according to the charges.
Kevin Moulden, also 27, of Mullica Township, is accused of maintaining a drug-production facility.
“I want to thank all of our law enforcement partners that contributed to this operation,” Tyner said of the group effort that included the FBI, DEA, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and various local municipal departments. “Their efforts enabled us to remove guns, high capacity ammunition and drugs out of circulation in Atlantic County.”
Strong is additionally charged with distribution of heroin, conspiracy to distribute heroin, possession of heroin and distribution of edible marijuana.
Moulden is also charged with cocaine possession and distribution, and various weapons offenses, including for the extended magazine.
Scott Dorn, 20, of Egg Harbor City, is charged with distribution of heroin within 500 feet of public housing, heroin and cocaine possession, endangering the welfare of a child and conspiracy to distribute heroin.
Tashaun Pressley, 19, of Egg Harbor City, is charged with heroin distribution and possession, conspiracy to distribute heroin, possession of marijuana, attempt to destroy evidence and tampering with evidence.
Strong, Moulden, Dorn and Pressley are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Anthony Hamilton, 33, of Mullica Township, along with Raekwon McKenney, 20, and Barry Bethea, 45, both of Egg Harbor City, were charged with distribution and possession of heroin and were released on summonses.
Theresa Strong, 39, of Egg Harbor City, is charged with cocaine possession and was also released on a summons.
